You’ll need email hosting if you’re setting up a business and are considering using a professional email address such as [email protected] or [email protected] instead of a personal Gmail or Yahoo address.
Email hosting lets you send and receive messages using your own domain. You can use it to communicate with customers, suppliers, employees, and business partners through a professional email address.
To get started, you’ll need a domain, an email hosting service, and the correct DNS settings. The hosting service creates your mailboxes, stores your messages, and handles incoming and outgoing email.
To help you choose from the best email hosting providers in Uganda, we have compared this well vetted list using five factors: billing and renewal terms, mailbox and storage limits, email app compatibility, migration options, and authentication and support.
The right choice depends on your budget, team size, storage needs, and preferred billing method.
Let’s go through them.

1) Truehost
Our Workplace Email plans combine professional email accounts with storage and office tools in one annual package. They’re designed for businesses and teams that need between one and 20 mailboxes.

You get email addresses using your own domain, webmail, mobile and desktop access, shared calendars and contacts, and cloud storage. The package also includes docs, sheets, and presentations.
Our security and email management features include two-factor authentication, antivirus checks, advanced spam filtering, aliases, and forwarding rules.
| Plan | Mailboxes | Storage per mailbox | Aliases | Annual price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Workplace Starter | 1 | 3 GB | 10 | USh 106,860.00 |
| Workplace Pro | 3 | 5 GB | 30 | USh 44,881.20 |
| Workplace Business | 5 | 10 GB | 50 | USh 79,076.40 |
| Workplace Premium | 10 | 10 GB | 100 | USh 156,728.00 |
| Workplace Enterprise | 20 | 10 GB | 200 | USh 313,456.00 |
You pay annually for a plan with a fixed number of mailboxes. This makes budgeting easier if your team size is fairly stable, though you’ll need to choose a package with enough accounts for everyone.
You can access your email through a browser or compatible mobile and desktop apps. Contact our team to confirm migration arrangements before switching from another provider.
The plans work great with small teams that want professional email and office tools under one annual subscription.
Mailbox numbers and storage are capped by plan. Storage ranges from 3 GB to 10 GB per mailbox, so compare those limits with your team’s needs. Confirm renewal terms, support hours, and assistance with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC first with our support team.
2) Nindohost
Nindohost’s Nindomail service uses per-user pricing. You pay according to the number of people who need an account, which can work well for businesses whose staff numbers change regularly.
It offers Basic, Professional, and Enterprise tiers, with storage options ranging from 8 GB to 100 GB per user.
| Tier | 8 GB | 25 GB | 50 GB | 100 GB |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | UGX8100 | UGX16300 | — | — |
| Professional | UGX10100 | UGX18300 | UGX26900 | — |
| Enterprise | UGX12200 | UGX20400 | UGX28500 | UGX49000 |
Monthly per-user pricing lets you match the number of paid accounts to your team. Confirm renewal terms before signing up.
All tiers support webmail, POP, IMAP, SMTP, Outlook, and mobile email apps. Daily sending limits can reach 5,000 messages.
Nindohost offers free mailbox migration, with its team handling the transfer from your existing email service.
Features include mandatory two-factor authentication, IP restrictions, and daily backups. Support is available by phone and email through a 24/7 helpdesk. A 30-day money-back guarantee is also included. Assistance with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC is not specified.
Nindohost would work great for businesses that need flexible per-user billing or larger mailboxes.
Before buying, confirm email authentication support, and if support location is important to you, ask where the team handling your account is based.
3) Webhosting.ug (Bulamu Mail)
Webhosting.ug offers Bulamu Mail through fixed annual packages billed in Ugandan shillings. Instead of allocating the given storage to each mailbox, the plans provide shared storage for the company.
| Plan | Annual price | Mailboxes | Shared storage | Monthly transfer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Launch | UGX 662,000 | 10 | 10 GB | 50 GB |
| Grow | UGX 1,579,000 | 25 | 25 GB | 125 GB |
| Scale | UGX 3,055,000 | 50 | 50 GB | 250 GB |
Plans are billed annually in UGX. Taxes and setup charges may apply, and the domain is purchased separately. Confirm the renewal price and any additional charges before placing an order.
Storage is shared across all mailboxes. For example, the Scale plan provides 50 GB for the company, not 50 GB for every user. Each domain has a sending limit of 200 messages per hour, so businesses sending large marketing campaigns may need a separate email marketing service.

The service supports webmail, IMAP, and SMTP. Setup guidance covers DNS and device configuration. Migration and managed backups cost extra.
The provider offers phone and ticket support, but its support hours are not specified. Its setup guide covers MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
Bulamu Mail is best for businesses with up to 50 mailboxes and okay with shared storage that prefer a fixed annual bill in UGX.
Check before buying to work out if the shared storage will accommodate everyone’s messages and attachments. Also, include migration, backup, setup, and applicable tax costs in your budget.
4) Crystal Webhosting
Crystal Webhosting resells Google Workspace, giving businesses access to Google’s email and productivity tools through a local provider. Depending on the plan, these include Gmail, Drive, and Meet.
| Edition | Annual price | Storage per user |
|---|---|---|
| Business Starter | UGX 290,000 | 30 GB |
| Business Standard | UGX 580,000 | 2 TB |
| Business Plus | UGX 870,000 | 5 TB |
Prices are listed annually in UGX, but it’s not clearly stated if they’re per user. Google Workspace is licensed per user, so request a written quote. If the starter price was per user, ten users would cost UGX 2,900,000 per year.
Google’s migration tools can help transfer email from another service. Crystal does not clearly state if its team handles migration for you. The domain is purchased separately.

The plan information mentions two-step verification and 24/7 technical support, although coverage for Google Workspace is unclear. Help with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC is not stated. Payment options include MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money, great in Uganda.
It’s great if your business needs Google’s productivity tools and you prefer paying a local provider in shillings.
Confirm the price per user, the renewal cost, and if support covers workspace administration and email migration. Get the complete quote in writing before paying.
5) UTCL (UTel)
UTCL offers per-mailbox pricing in US dollars, with the monthly rate decreasing as you add more mailboxes.
| Number of mailboxes | Price per mailbox per month |
|---|---|
| 1 | $5 |
| 2–10 | $4 |
| 11–25 | $3 |
You get hosted business email, so you don’t need to operate your own mail server. However, they do not specify storage limits, sending limits, supported email applications, or other technical features.
You pay per mailbox each month, and renewal terms are not stated. They also offer domain registration at $50 annually and domain hosting at $10 per month.
Migration arrangements, authentication features, and support hours are not stated. You can contact the company to request more information.
This email hosting fits small teams that want a monthly rate per mailbox.
Before buying, ask about storage, compatible email apps, backups, migration, and account security. Confirm that the mentioned prices and service details are current.
6) Roke Telkom Business
Roke Telkom Business provides professional email hosted on its own servers. Businesses need to contact the company for pricing and package details.

The service supports POP, IMAP, and SMTP, including secure connections, and works with webmail and compatible email applications.
Pricing is available on request. That, together with renewal terms, storage limits, the maximum number of mailboxes, and migration arrangements.
Roke Telkom provides contact options through its website, but detailed information on authentication features and support hours is not stated.
It’s best for businesses already using Roke Telkom’s internet or voice services that prefer to discuss email options with the same provider.
Ask for a written quote covering mailbox limits, storage, migration, authentication, support hours, and renewal pricing before purchasing.
7) Desishub
Desishub helps businesses set up branded email addresses on their domains using platforms such as Zoho, Google, and Microsoft. Unlike providers that directly host their own email service, Desishub primarily offers setup and configuration services.
| Package | Setup fee | Monthly fee | Mailboxes | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter (Zoho Free) | UGX 250,000 | None | Up to 5 | 5 GB each |
| Basic Professional | UGX 200,000 | UGX 20,000 | 1 | 10 GB |
| Enhanced Business | UGX 400,000 | UGX 60,000 | Up to 3 | 30 GB |
| Premium and Collaboration | UGX 950,000 | UGX 130,000 | Up to 5 | 30 GB or more on Google Workspace, or 50 GB or more on Microsoft 365 |
Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 subscriptions on the Premium package are billed separately by those companies.
You pay a one-time setup fee, plus a monthly charge for paid packages. Starter has no monthly fee because it uses Zoho’s free plan.
The Starter package supports up to five users on one domain, with 5 GB per user. However, Zoho’s free plan does not support IMAP, POP or ActiveSync. You therefore cannot connect it to Outlook and other desktop email apps through those protocols.
The package determines how much migration help you receive. Starter offers manual forwarding, Basic includes migration, Enhanced covers up to 1 GB, and Premium covers up to 25 GB along with contacts and calendars.
All packages include SPF and DKIM records. Enhanced offers DMARC monitoring, while Premium enforces DMARC. Support ranges from 30 days on Starter to six months through a dedicated channel on Premium.
These packages are best for solo founders and small teams that want help setting up branded email without handling all the configuration themselves.
Your email runs on Zoho, Google, or Microsoft rather than on Desishub’s own email platform. Check the third-party subscription costs, mailbox limits, app compatibility, migration allowance, and duration of setup support before choosing a package.
Choose the Right Email Hosting Provider
Your team size, storage requirements and billing preference should guide your decision.
Choose per-company or per-plan billing if your team size is stable and you want a predictable annual cost. Truehost and Webhosting Uganda use this model, although their storage arrangements differ.
Choose per-user billing if your headcount changes frequently or individual users need more storage. Nindohost follows this model, while Crystal offers Google Workspace through a local reseller.
Consider managed email services if you need help with administration, migration or ongoing maintenance. CFTS offers managed services, while Desishub handles setup using third-party platforms.
Also consider compatibility with Outlook and mobile apps, email sending limits, two-factor authentication, backups and help with SPF, DKIM and DMARC. These settings help protect your accounts and improve email delivery.
Before paying, ask each shortlisted provider:
- What is the renewal price, in writing?
- Who moves existing mailboxes, and is migration free or charged separately?
- Who configures DNS, SPF, DKIM and DMARC?
- Is storage allocated to each mailbox or shared across the company?
- When is support available, and which channels can you use?
You can also compare Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Zoho Mail directly with their official providers before choosing a reseller.
